The Devil’s Doorbell

19 July, 2023

We’re delighted to announce that our brand-new show The Devil’s Doorbell has been awarded funding by Arts Council England with support from Kent County Council.

Powerful dance-theatre, made and performed by Moving Memory’s core company of older dancers, The Devil’s Doorbell is a passionate response to the pervasive misogyny written through women’s lives, and gives voice to women of all ages to demand change.

Drawing on the roles and personas ascribed to women throughout their lives, the show explores the absurdities and injustices conferred upon women’s bodies, serving up a surprising and provocative experience laced with laughter and the moving messiness of life.

Not afraid to delve deep, the unspeakable may be spoken.

Performances this Autumn in Whitstable (17 September), Gravesend (22 October) and Tunbridge Wells (29 October) will include curtain-raisers from local Groovin’ Well groups, taking our Spirits to the Sky, and showcasing the talent abounding in the local community.

“A very powerful & exciting piece of theatre.”

“Thought provoking, emotional, wonderful.”
