We’re really pleased to share that Moving Memory has been awarded £29,850 from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants.
This funding will support the research and development of a new dance-theatre work created and performed by our Core Company – a group of women aged 55-94.
Placing older bodies centre stage, the work will challenge ageism and the ways older women are so often made to feel small or unseen. The project will bring together bold choreography, live music and film, rooted in lived experiences of ageing, illness and loss of autonomy.
As part of the process, we will also create a short animated film and invite audiences into the work through a public sharing and facilitated conversation. This will help shape the next stage of development, building towards a full-scale production and future tour.
We’ll be sharing more details soon.
