Event Info

Building on the Welsh concept of Cwtch — a loving hold — Golden Slumbers is a highly visual and physical outdoor show exploring the endless cycle of labour experienced by women through their lives and celebrating everyone’s right to a little rest and recuperation.

Gathered around a feather-filled golden bed, a vibrant mix of movers and musicians celebrate the endless toil, the juggling of priorities, the thankless tasks, alongside the joy and strength of friendship and community found in the everyday muck of life.

Liberace meets your mum sprinkled with a handful of Cwtch!

The performance starts at 3pm will last 20 minutes.

Dance Re:Ignite is a project framework of participatory and training activities and celebrations designed to enhance and develop dance practice and infrastructure of provision for 55+ year olds and inclusive groups in Hertfordshire.

Golden Slumbers is generously supported by Beee Creative, Arts Council England, POW Thanet, Ideas Test, Gulbenkian Arts Centre and University of Kent School of Arts.
