Moving Well

Joyful, creative movement sessions for older people

Moving Well workshops are free, friendly sessions designed to help you feel more confident, connected and active – at your own pace.

You do not need any dance experience, and there’s no pressure to “get it right”. Just come as you are and take part in a way that feels good for your body.

What to expect

Our sessions are relaxed and social. You can expect joyful dance and movement, with creative activities inspired by music, memories and everyday life. There is time to chat, connect and have a good laugh. You can sit, stand or move in whatever way feels right for you.

Everything is guided by experienced facilitators, with plenty of options to rest and adapt as needed.

Who it’s for

Moving Well is for everyone. Our sessions are especially welcoming for older people – whether you want to move more, try something new, or find a space that feels supportive and age-appropriate, you’ll be right at home.

We welcome people of all abilities, including those living with long-term health conditions or disabilities, and anyone looking to feel more connected.

Where we run sessions

We deliver Moving Well workshops across Kent in community centres and halls. We also run sessions in libraries, shopping centres and local public spaces.

We bring the sessions into everyday familiar spaces, making them easy to access and part of the community.

Why join?

People come along for all sorts of reasons – to move a bit more, meet others, or try something new. Many tell us they leave feeling more confident, more connected, and happier and more energised.

Some people join for a short time, while others stay with us for years. Some even go on to take part in performances or support sessions as volunteers.

‘I’ve loved attending – the people leading are fantastic!’

‘It’s given me the confidence to move more.’

‘Forever grateful. I feel healthier and more physically active now.’

‘I just feel about 20 years younger.’
