Love Grows saw Moving Memory working with four primary school / care setting pairs across Kent.

In the Love Grows Garden, the generations are nurturing, cherishing and helping each other to grow — so in our very special ‘potting shed’ you will find stories of love and tenderness from young and old. 

Audiences could:

  • Pop in at any time and tell us about their stories of love 
  • Watch the film and see what young and old really have in common 
  • Join a workshop and learn the dance 
  • Enjoy the performances with Moving Memory and Intergen31.

Love Grows is the result of a six-month project during which children from four primary schools across Kent were supported to talk to older people in their local area about the stories, music, dances and pictures that represent ‘love’ to them. They brought their favourite bits together to make a dance which they performed together — and to which Moving Memory and Intergen31 have added their own magic.
